Q: Do you offer a guarantee?
A: Yes we offer a five-year guarantee on both materials and workmanship.
Note: Manufacturers guarantees on fittings are not precluded by this and may be longer in some cases.
Q: Are these buildings well insulated?
A: We recommend to you a choice of insulation systems. It is very important to provide insulation in the roof. Heat rises and the roof must be capable of stopping heat loss. Double-glazing with draught seals is recommended for all our office and accommodation buildings.
Our standard roof insulation system is fibreglass reinforced bitumen shingle tile on 2mm torch on felt on 40mm powerdeck urethane insulation on 19mm tgv timbers.
Q: Will I need planning permission and what about building regulations?
A: It is unusual for planning permissions to be necessary; most of our buildings are within “permitted development rights”
You should consult us about this as we are dealing with this question every day and all sites are different. In any case you should tell your neighbours about the project.
A good idea is to read
our detailed paper on the planning guidelines
here>> Do I need planning permission.htm
Planning and building regulations are separate issues. Again we are dealing with this question daily and all sites are different so talk to us if you have any concerns. We are fully aware of both safety and environmental issues within the building regulations.
Q: What foundations are required?
A: Your building is designed and installed to be permanent therefore a flat, stable and strong base is vital.
We recommend a solution for your site based on accessibility and levels.
|
Sometimes this is concrete and sometimes a timber base on pillars or jacks. All sites are different. In all cases we give consideration to the surrounding area of the garden and the additional cost of landscaping around the base and splash-back from rainfall.
It is vital to get the right design to protect against water ingress and safeguard the longevity of the building.

Q: Can I have plumbing installed?
A: Yes plumbing and drainage are parts of the project we advise on. There is always a way to achieve a suitable solution.
Q: How soon after order will delivery and installation take place?
|
A: Our lead times vary from 4 weeks to 4 months depending on the time of year. Before we accept your order we always give a time window for project start. When your date is confirmed we turn up on time and never leave the project until it is complete to your satisfaction.

Q: Do you have a show-site where I can look at the buildings?
A:
We are in the process of
moving our show-site from The Grosvenor Garden Centre Chester
to a new site close by. In
the mean time contact Noella
to arrange meetings or
building viewings.
|
We have completed client projects all over the UK and many of our clients have agreed to show their building to prospective clients. We do not publish details of where these sites are and arrange visits individually with the client as appropriate.
Noella arranges this usually at an advanced stage of negotiation.
